New Year's Eve Posters and Hand-Drawn Art: The Designs Behind Our Merch

Every design in our store comes from the world of The Avett Brothers: their shows, their instruments, their hometown and a lot of hand-drawn art. Here is what is printed on them, and why.

Why so many New Year's Eve designs?

New Year's Eve shows are a long-running Avett Brothers tradition. NYE 2024 Hourglass shows Father Time with a skull and scythe facing a winged baby New Year, with an hourglass marked NYE between them. NYE Asheville Arch and NYE Asheville Moon carry the date 12.31.25 and Asheville, NC, where the band played Harrah's Cherokee Center on New Year's Eve 2025.

What about Concord?

The band comes from Concord, North Carolina. Est. 2001 Concord says it in bold capitals, Water Tower puts THE AVETT BROS. on a small-town tank, and Farm Barn and Farm Photo bring in barns, cows and the countryside.

Which designs show the band playing?

On Stage draws two musicians on banjo and guitar in front of an upright piano, Plaid Guitars puts two acoustic players in a sunny circle, Band Sketch is a black-ink drawing of four musicians, and Scott and Seth Cartoon is a badge of the two brothers.

What is Timothy Seth Avett as Darling?

It is Seth Avett's solo project. Darling Photo and Darling Pink carry its full name, for fans who follow his own records too.

And the rest?

Bluebird, Apples, Wildflowers, Bird and Heart and Roller Skate are just fun to wear. Racing, Dirt Bike and Precision Welding add a little road-trip grit, and Ornate Lettering, Brush Script and Oval Script keep it to the band's name.

Which ones are printed on both sides?

NYE Asheville Moon, 26 Jersey, Darling Pink and Bros Sunset have a front and a back print.
